A wave of self awareness

I was at Madison Art Fair on Saturday when a huge wave of peacefulness washed over me and then a moment of self awareness that made me want to cry.  I had become a person I did not like.  I am a mother of 2 boys, currently aged 3 and 4 ... they are fun, and lively, and challenging but I had not been the mother I wanted to be and in reality being a terrible role model.

Over the last few months I have also realized that over the last few years I had not considered what consequences my actions had on the environment.

I have created some rules to live by and I am going to use this space for self-reflection to celebrate on the good days and to work out what went wrong on the bad.  To share my journey, to save inspirational quotations and photos of the happy moments.

I want to become a better person.

My a-ha moment!!
I had gone to Madison on my own - I found a fabulous lunch spot and I people watched and I had time to think and to work out why I felt so peaceful.  I had spoken only kind words to people - complimenting people on their artwork, offering to buy a drink for a nursing mother who was sat on a bench alone with her baby and helping a guy out who wanted a cup of coffee. Such simple acts, I was surprised what a difference it made to me - it was truly an inspiration.

This post is disjointed but I hope that as I focus on the parts of my life that I am planning on making changes then everything will make more sense.

What I am planning on focusing on:
Peaceful life as a mum
My change to vegetarianism
My attempt to be more environmentally conscious
